Improving the photos...
Posted on December 11, 2015 • 2 min read • 368 wordsSo, if you’ve seen any of my posts before you’ll notice the picture quality isn’t the best - I tend to just take them via my phone, and they are taken in the spot I am working on - not brilliant in most cases - but arguably ok for a “blog” style post :)
Well as I see people are actually enjoying my posts (it was more just a personal log at first, as I know the hobby will grow to become something amazing, and want to be able to look back on that journey), so I figured from now on I will be doing decent photos for every post - whether it’s a build or otherwise. I tend to use Phil Upton’s photos at events which are already of high quality, but for the ones I take they will be decent!
There’s still a couple more articles I’m working on, but are not quite ready, but they’ll hopefully be out in the next few days (including my own UK Drone Show writeup).
For now, here’s a few photos I’ve taken today, to try and show where I’m up to. I don’t claim to be a pro, but I’ve had a DSLR for a few years, and it usually comes out for the airshows or holidays, but I’ll be using it from now on for everything that I can :).
I hope you’ll agree that they are much better. I have a good selection of lenses so should be able to take the right shot for any post, regardless of size. There’s still some things to work on such as making sure the white background is 100% white, but considering this is done in my bedroom on some foam-board, with only light coming in from a Velux (roof window), I think it’s going pretty well. For some of the photos I even needed a 3 second exposure to get enough light in to make the photo as it should at the ISO I wanted/needed.
That’s all for now, until the next post…! :)
